TTM stands for Time To Market. Time to market is the critical aspect of providing patient-matched solutions such as implants for certain indications such as Oncology or Trauma. By leveraging advanced technology (additive manufacturing), we are able to help surgeons deliver the best solutions specific to each patient in days or weeks as opposed to months.
At ALM Ortho, Inc., we have developed a platform that streamlines PSI design using the patient’s anatomy. This works by using existing anatomic markers to speed up the design and deliver the product to the surgeon that much faster.
Imagine a virtual spine model where the patient’s biometric information is plugged in, and the design is virtually input based on real-world loading conditions. The resulting design comes from our IP and proprietary processes, which can be delivered in record time for surgery.
The implants are created remotely. There are many steps in the process, including secondary machining, polishing, cleaning & passivation that need to be completed before an implant to be used in a surgical setting.
The critical consideration in pricing is the control of the infrastructure for manufacturing. We have this capability built-in at ALM Ortho, Inc. The benefits include reduced inventory and processing costs, the elimination of the trial and error of the implant fitting process, and the support we give to health care teams in providing personalized care for their patients.
